I’ve seen Taco Molino on several occasions while in the Kingsley and from the outside it looks inviting but I’ve never tried until recently. When I went, I was quickly seated and the waitress did was great. Where Taco Molino falls short is on the food. The smells and the ambiance gives the impression that the experience will be fine and that’s what I was expecting.
I ordered the Carne Asada plate and it was a nice size portion but the food was lukewarm and the flavor was somewhat bland. The tortillas were cold also, uhhh! I was truly expecting more considering the décor and atmosphere but I was met with disappointment.
Overall, not much to say other than I didn’t enjoy the way my food came out and the lack of bold flavor. Maybe the is was a one off but I don’t think I’ll be back. I saw other diners enjoying their food so maybe you’ll have a better chance.
Chef Scott brings ultra fine dining to an approachable rendition of traditional Latin cuisine. Hand-made scratch dishes from fresh ingredients make all the difference in today's fast casual dining scene, and the team at Taco Molino does each ingredient a great justice in its preparation. The day fresh squeezed citrus at the bar also elevates the cocktail experience even further.
Beautiful atmosphere and great service, But the food was definitely off. I had the 2 taco plate (chicken and steak) with rice and beans, The food was warm not freshly hot, the corn tortilla was not tasteful, the chicken taco I could not take more than 2 bites as it was the most “off” in taste (bland) , the steak was the only thing that was tasteful. Rice and beans were okay. Again, service was great, but definitely not a place for a great and tasteful meal.
Sat at the outside bar for lunch here today and it was excellent. The Empanadas and Flautas are our favorite. The classic margarita always hits the spot. I could bath in the Amarillo Sauce and the Chipotle Aioli.
It's our new favorite Mexican spot in the Fort Mill area, which is high praise given my wife would eat Mexican food every day if she could.. Food was outstanding and service was great, even when sitting at the bar. A mistake was made on our order and even though we denied a replacement (wife receive cheese instead of chicken quesadilla) they insisted on making it right and sent us a chicken quesadilla to go. Would highly recommend the Fish taco!
We finally got around to trying this restaurant and LOVED it! We've been there three times now (in about 3 weeks).
Went for late lunch one day and sat on the back patio with a heater nearby. It was perfect. Had 1 different kind of margaritas, tacos, chips and guac. Service was excellent.
Went back for dinner and then again for another lunch. Same positive experience each time. Great food, drinks, Service, atmosphere.
Good for adult only group outing, date night, and its family friendly too.
My goodness. Was impressed by everything from the hostess who sat us in the heated patio. The manager was present and attentive. Wait staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Customer service was the best I've had in a while, attention to detail was impressed. I had a true dining experience. Priced right & I could've had leftovers, but I killed it and got desert- SO GOOD!
We visited Taco Molino yesterday, 10/21, for lunch. Unfortunately, after the server took our drink order, they never came back. We patiently waited almost an hour and the place was dead, so definitely not due to high costumer volume. We sat outside in the bar area at the high top tables. While waiting, another gentleman who was fortunate enough to have been served his food, was never given his check and had to eventually get up from his table and walk to the bar to pay. After realizing getting lunch was a lost cause, we walked up to the bar to pay for our one drink we ordered an hour prior and walked next door to Napa for lunch.
